My domestic violence journey started a few years ago when I was in my second abusive and toxic marriage. My husband broke my nose and that single moment changed the course of my life forever. It shattered my world, but in hindsight it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it forced me to turn inward and reconnect with myself and my creator.
Today, I’m a mother of three amazing children – 19, 17, and 6 – who were by my side as we navigated through trauma together. A year ago I took a leap of faith and dove into bodybuilding competitions as a way to show other women around the globe that we all have the power to transform our lives into something extraordinary! Fitness has been such an empowering force in my life and I’m now on a mission to share this passion with others through boudoir photography. Every shoot is an opportunity for me to help someone else reclaim their body and recognize the beauty that lies within them.
My domestic violence story isn’t a pleasant one, but it’s also not one of despair. It’s a story of strength, resilience, transformation, and courage. It’s been full of ups and downs but today I stand here as proof that no matter how dark the valley may seem, there can be light at the end of the tunnel – even if you have to create it yourself.
I’m thankful for where I am today and strive to use my voice to inspire other survivors like myself. I want them to know that domestic violence does not define you and there is hope for a brighter future ahead. Together, we can take back our power and create the lives of our dreams!
I speak to domestic violence survivors, empowering them to reclaim their bodies through fitness and boudoir photography while inspiring them with my story of overcoming domestic violence trauma. The message here is one of transformation, resilience, strength, courage, and hope – qualities that any domestic violence survivor can relate to.
